On March 6, 2017 has been opened the Call for Tender for Telecommunications Infrastructure and Services to connect the national research and education networks (NRENs) of: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, as well as infrastructure for Chile and a submarine connection between Colombia and Brazil.
It is expected to sign contracts for Irrevocable Rights of Use (IRUs) for periods of 15 years or more, in use of fibre and/or optical channels allowing for link speeds of 100 Gbps or more.
This tender is made within the framework of the BELLA-T Project funded by the European Commission through EuropeAid.
