Opened from April 23, 2019, the second Infrastructure and Telecommunications Services Tender Process for the development of the RedCLARA backbone in the tracts that connects the national research and education networks of Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

The Tender, that closes on May 23, seeks long-term Indefeasible Rights of Use (IRU's) of the spectrum of the telecommunications infrastructure of the DWDM network. Funded by the European Commission, the BELLA-T project's mission is to provide an expandable, scalable, high-capacity terrestrial optical infrastructure in Latin America. One of the fronts will focus on the construction of the new backbone of the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA), which interconnects the academic networks of the region.
