The “Ventanilla Abierta para la investigación científica en América Latina” (Open Window for Scientific Research in Latin America), also known as VA, serves as a fast, easy and centralized access point for researchers, academics, and scientists across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to tap into e-Infrastructure resources essential for driving innovative projects.
This service is a result of BELLA II project, led by RedCLARA and cofounded by European Union, and is provided with the support of the National Research and Education Networks (NRENs). BELLA II aims to reduce the digital divide and support the development of the necessary infrastructure to consolidate and expand a digital ecosystem of science,
Accessible via the BELLA II and RedCLARA websites, Ventanilla Abierta promotes new collaborations throughout the region. Through the platform, users can request access to vital e-Infrastructure resources across Latin America and globally. This includes end-to-end connectivity and network services, high-performance computing (HPC) resources in collaboration with SCALAC (Advanced Computing System for Latin America and the Caribbean), and technical guidance or implementing identity service.
To request support, users simply need to access the platform and complete a form. Following the submission, they will be connected with their national network or relevant members of the BELLA II / RedCLARA team who can assist with their needs. “Our goal is to meet the growing data and collaboration demands of researchers in the region by partnering with national networks, universities, and research institutes,” explains Tania Altamirano, RedCLARA’s Manager of Academic Relations.
Researchers, academics, and scientists from all disciplines are encouraged to request technical support through Ventanilla Abierta, regardless of whether their country has an established NREN. All fields of knowledge and academia are welcome.
