The official publication of the 3rd Ibero-American Symposium on Blockchain and Cybersecurity is now available for download online. The event took place on 20 and 21 November 2025 in Santiago, Chile, at the headquarters of ECLAC and the Institute of International Studies at the University of Chile.
Focusing on blockchain in international trade, the document, published by the Ibero-American Blockchain and Cybersecurity Network (RIBCi), brings together the main academic papers and contributions presented during the Symposium, consolidating a space for interdisciplinary reflection on the impact of blockchain, cybersecurity and emerging technologies on international trade, critical infrastructure, justice, health and digital transformation.
Key topics covered include the modelling of smart contracts, the convergence of blockchain and quantum computing, cybersecurity in critical maritime infrastructure, cryptocurrency-related crimes and blockchain forensics, as well as proposals to strengthen the security of medical devices and the role of artificial intelligence in distributed systems. The papers reflect experiences and studies carried out by universities, research centres and public institutions in Latin America and Europe.
The publication highlights Ibero-American cooperation in research, development and innovation, as well as the contribution of academic and scientific networks in addressing technological challenges with economic and social impact. In this regard, the content is of particular interest to the higher education, science and technology communities that make up RedCLARA and its national networks.
The Symposium was co-organised by ECLAC, the RIBCi Network and the University of Chile, with the support of the CYTED programme, and has established itself as a regional benchmark for academic and strategic analysis in blockchain and cybersecurity.
