June 11, at 24:00 GMT. These are the new date and time limit for submitting papers for the TICAL2018 Conference and the 2nd Latin American e-Science Meeting. The extension of the deadline (previously May 7), will allow even more researchers and academics to send their proposals and participate in the event, which will take place between September 3 and 5, 2018, at the Las Americas Convention Center, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. And remember, registrations are already open, with discounts for those who register until August 2.
It takes less than five months for the most important conference of ICT directors in Latin America. TICAL2018, which will be held for the second consecutive year in conjunction with the Latin American e-Science Meeting, will take place from September 3 to 5, 2018, at the Las Americas Convention Center in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. And as the date of the event approaches, some of its important deadlines also come to an end, such as the submission of papers, which ends in less than a month, and the registration for the Virtual Information Day on the two meetings, which ends this Tuesday, April 10.

The Amlight consortium, which manages international connections between the United States and Latin America for teaching and research purposes, has announced the activation of new 100 Gb/s international connections in Fortaleza, Brazil, and Santiago, Chile. With these new links, researchers and students in both countries will have access to a new network infrastructure with ten times the bandwidth, to the benefit of international academic collaboration.
